Amex Platinum remains the best travel rewards card, with unlimited lounge access, £400 in dining out credits per year and several types of insurance, travel and car rental being the ones I’m interested in most. They also offer a free additional card for someone you nominate. The primary card holder is financially responsible for both cards but this allows you to offer lounge access and travel insurance to another person. In addition, some Amex offers can be used separately on each card. Finally, there’s Marriott, Radisson, Meliá and Hilton status and the points equivalent of 1% cashback.
