There’s a useful new offer available on the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card that could be particularly valuable if you have Marriott stays planned before the end of the year.
You can currently get £70 back when you spend £200 or more at participating Marriott hotels in Europe and the Middle East. The offer is available until 31 December 2026, giving you a relatively easy way to reduce the cost of an upcoming Marriott stay.
How the offer works
The offer is straightforward:
- Spend £200 or more at participating Marriott hotels in Europe and the Middle East.
- Get £70 back on your card.
- The offer runs until 31 December 2026.
- The spend needs to meet the terms of the offer on your Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card.
That effectively gives you a 35% saving on £200 of eligible spend, provided you were going to make the Marriott booking anyway.
As always with Amex Offers, check the exact terms shown in your American Express account before making the booking, as the eligible hotels and transaction conditions are set by the individual offer.
You can get the offer twice
There’s an extra trick here which makes this offer particularly interesting.
The same £70 back on £200 spend offer is also available on the free supplementary card that you can add to your Marriott Bonvoy American Express account.
That means a couple could potentially trigger the offer on both cards, giving you:
- £70 back after £200 of eligible Marriott spend on the main card
- £70 back after another £200 of eligible Marriott spend on the supplementary card
- £140 total cashback on £400 of Marriott spending
That is effectively a 35% saving across the £400 of eligible spend.
Even better, the Marriott Bonvoy American Express has a £95 annual fee, so if you can genuinely use both offers, the £140 cashback alone more than covers the card’s annual fee.
Of course, don’t manufacture spending just to trigger the offer. But if you already have £400 or more of qualifying Marriott stays planned before the end of the year, this could be a particularly valuable combination.
Make sure the offer is showing as available on both cards before spending, and check the individual offer terms for the qualifying hotels and transactions.
A useful offer if you’re chasing Marriott Bonvoy status
The offer becomes even more interesting if you’re already working towards the next level of Marriott Bonvoy status.
If you’re only a few nights short of the next tier, an extra Marriott stay towards the end of the year can be worth considering anyway. The £70 rebate can then help take some of the sting out of the cost of those additional nights.
For example, if you’re planning a £200 Marriott stay that you need in order to get closer to the next status level, getting £70 back means you’re effectively paying £130 for the stay after the rebate — while still earning your usual Marriott Bonvoy points and elite-night credit, subject to the terms of your booking and the programme.
And if you can use the offer on the supplementary card as well, you could potentially save £140 across £400 of Marriott stays while picking up the elite-night credit from those stays.
So if you’re already planning Marriott stays before the end of the year, it’s worth checking whether the offer is sitting in your Amex account — and whether it is also available on any supplementary card.
Don’t forget the Marriott Bonvoy card itself
If you’re not familiar with the card, we’ve covered the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card in more detail here:

The card can be particularly useful for regular Marriott guests, thanks to the combination of Marriott Bonvoy points and benefits linked to Marriott stays. For anyone who is already close to the next Bonvoy status tier, offers like this can also make those final few nights of the year a little more attractive.
Bottom line
If you have Marriott stays planned in Europe or the Middle East before the end of 2026, check your American Express account for this offer.
£70 back on £200 of Marriott spending is a decent saving — and potentially £140 back on £400 if you have the offer on a free supplementary card.
The £140 saving also more than covers the card’s £95 annual fee, before taking into account the other benefits of the card. And if you’re only a few nights short of the next Marriott Bonvoy status level, this could be a particularly good opportunity to combine a useful saving with the stays you need to get over the line. Just make sure you read the offer’s full terms and conditions and that your particular hotel and transaction qualify before booking.
